Mike Stanton(1-1) was brilliant in relief and registered the victory. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 2 hits and no walks in 4 innings lowering his ERA to 2.43. Chicago had a total of 10 hits for the game. Brad Lidge earned his 11th save. Victor Zambrano(1-6) was charged with the loss. He was unable to control the Chicago offense and allowed 9 hits and 6 walks in 6 innings. For Chicago, the victory kept their winning streak on the march. Stan Halgas was in a great frame of mind in the clubhouse after the game, 'Everybody's contributing now. Timely hitting, some slick fielding plays and good pitching when we need it. Man, when that's happening, this sure is an easy job!'
